Create a business plan
Translate
The business plan explains how your company’s product can solve the customer’s perceived problem. The business plan contains top-level information that defines the plan description, the strategy (your approach to meeting the customer needs) and customer key goals and objectives (the perceived customer need).
The business plan is created as a result of analysis carried out on the account (SWOT, GAP, etc). You may do this separately or within Account Science.
Open the account and navigate to Business Planning

Click in the field on the ribbon to create a new business plan, or click the down-arrow to open an existing business plan.
Create a Business Plan
Each account can have multiple business plans, e.g. a different plan for each budget year, or a for each product.

Business Plan Name: Click in the field and type a name for the business plan.
Business Period: This may be pre-filled or select from the drop-down options.
Click the OK button to continue and the plan name will appear on the ribbon.
The plan is divided into three sections, each shown on a different tab:
- Plan details and objectives
- Timeline which displays the objectives and actions as a chart
- List which displays the actions as a list. Actions do not have be linked to objectives.
Click in the Strategy field and type an overview of how the plan’s goal will be achieved, i.e. your approach to meeting the plan’s outcome.
Click in the Customer Key Goals and Objectives field and type the outcome for the plan, i.e. the need the plan will meet.
The strategy can be broken down into objectives, which themselves can be broken down into a series of actions or tasks.
